About Us

Dublin Poker Festival was created in 2015 to merge ACOP (Amateur Championship Of Poker) and the European Deepstack Poker Championship with the intention of giving players a chance to take part in a poker festival spanning two weekends in Dublin City. It has since added the Irish Senior Poker Championship to the festival and this has now become the recognised and largest senior event in the country. The Festival traditionally takes place in February on the two weekends when Ireland's rugby team are playing away and therefore making hotel accommodation more affordable.

ACOP (Amateur Championship Of Poker) started 2013 with a field of 199 and has consistently grown throughout the years and racked up 810 entries in 2023. This event attracts a huge diversity of players and offers a very affordable €300 buy-in, this event has become the flagship for a lot of local pub games with qualifiers running throughout the country.

European Deepstack Poker Championship started out in 2008 and gave players a starting stack of 50,000 this was the first truly Deepstack event in the world.

The event attracts players from throughout Europe and the rest of the world and in 2023 we had 569 entries with 36 different nationalities competing.

It boasts a 100,000 starting stack for a €570 buy-in and probably one of the best structures available. In 2019 for the first time we offered two starting days and introduced the big blind ante both of which proved popular with the players.

The event has attracted many of the biggest poker names to grace the felt throughout the years and arguably launched the career of professional poker player and Best Selling Author Dara O'Kearney.

Irish Poker Senior Championships is strictly an aged 50 and over event, this was added to the festival line up in 2013 and has become the largest and most recognised senior event in Ireland and numbers hit a record breaking 251 entries for 2024 and we expect this to be topped for 2025. This is probably the loudest event of the poker festival as everybody is chatting at the tables – not too many headphones and i-pads to be seen here!!

The main driving force behind the festival is to encourage players to have some fun both on and off the tables and we encourage our staff to always have a smile and time for a chat with players.

We offer players the look and experience of a big buy-in festival and we think this is our little bit of uniqueness and it has proven to bring players back time and time again.

We look forward to welcoming back players from around the world both new and old to experience what it’s like to play poker in Dublin!!!

We look forward to seeing you in Dublin!!
